Spam bots?

Post by eish »

I have a feeling GPT bots are generating nonsense from forum context without, of course, any understanding.

I'm surprised unmanaged AI ("bot") posts are allowed at all. Maybe Fr. Joseph can elaborate more.

I suspect they get through unnoticed. They're not as unsophisticated as they used to be. It is only noticeable because (1) it posted in the wrong subforum, (2) the topic heading which sounds appropriate for the forum, does not make sense with a generic post devoid of content, which combined with (3) the advert in the footer makes it stand out.

I legitimately thought that was an anonymous person. That user's been banned.

I would have thought so too, if not for the discrepancies. The advertisement was the real giveaway, although I was loathe to report with so little info.

About that, Father--I notice that not all posts show under recent activity.
