Forum Annoucement

The resting place of threads that were very valid in 2004, but not so much in 2024. Basically this is a giant historical archive.

Starting Monday and until further notice, www link entrys will be disabled in your profile screen. This is because we receive a constant stream of people (mostly from Russia it seems) who register just to get a link to the website they are promoting. Sometimes these websites are very demented.

It is becoming a side job for me to have to delete these all the time.

Existing www links will not be deleted, and they will not be editable until we figure out a permanent solution.

In the mean time, people can use their "signature" to include a link.

OOD,
It's a very prudent resolution.
Congratulations.

So far this temporary tactic has been working well. We have been getting very few registered users linking websites - the few that have slipped in must be using some automated software to post/register themselves to this type of board.

The permanent fix is coming, God willing.

We upgraded the forum software today, but Fr. Nicholas must still add the support for foreign languages....

Until then, its all Greek to me...

I fixed it and now will be taking the next 47 days off line. I will 'see' everyone at Pascha. Please contact OOD and Father Siluan with any issues that may arise while I a, gone

I don't know if it's just me, but I can't read any of the foreign languages. It's all funny characters that make no sense at all!

Katya,

Fr. Nicholas thought he fixed this and took off on us for lent. ;)

When I have a moment later this week I'll roll up my sleeves and try to fix this. In the mean time, we will all have to speak English.
