Was anyone surprized that he took the name Benedict XVI and noticed the coincidence that the Prophesy of St. Malachy mentioned the Glory of the Olive which refers to Benedictines?
Cardinal Ratzinger read the Third Secret of Fatima and indicated that it had to do with the falling away from the faith.
He also prayed at the Way of the Cross this year and mentioned those who would fall away from the faith.
Maybe, hopefully, he will lead the Roman Catholic Church to repentance in preparation for the End Times.
By the way, he is the first Bavarian Pope since the Great Schism of 1054.

Its hard to be suprised about something that you're not really concerned about. The only thing that would really suprise me is if the Roman catholic church suddenly renounced their ways and became Orthodox. That woulod be a good suprise though

What I've read of the prophesies is that this pope will not last many years. And then the next one will be called Peter and he will be the last pope...after that will be the one world religions and the reign of the anti-christ.

So not only are we easily believing Roman Catholic prophecies which reflect their faith positions in spite of our grave disagreements with these positions, but we also think Pope Benedict XVI (Ratzinger) is a Jew who will raise up Solomon's Temple. Man, this place just keeps getting better and better...

Not you if I remember well, but was Ratzinger that years ago He present a document through of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith that in it said that nobody can be saved if he is not through the Roman Apostolic Catholic Church and it also said - although I don't remember if it was textually - that since the salvation is in the Roman Apostolic Catholic Church, all other religions were losing their time.
Did Ratzinger (O Pope Benedicte XVI) adopt integrist politicians maybe? Your thoughts?
