YOUR PRAYERS PLS

Post by Liudmilla »

I ask everyone's prayer, please. My husband and I are going for our INS papers next week. I had hoped for help from family and they have failed me. Please pray that God lets me find a job in the coming week so that things will not get even more complicated than they already are.

Did the INS give you green cards Liudmilla? Did you find jobs? You aren't going to be exported back to Mother Russia are you?

First, I would like to thank everyone for their prayers, they mean more than you could possibly know.

I have not found a job yet.....things are not that great in the job market. My many years of experience make me an expensive prospect and so not a first choice when looking for an employee. I have gone back to school to try to get "re-educated" for something else. A good thing, but all in all a truly sad state of affairs. Hopefully things will improve.

I still have to deal with INS. My husband and I know better on Tuesday...so keep those prayers coming. The current procedure in INS is a pain in the you-know-what. They certainly do not make the ordeal easy (not that they should) or simple (they really need to simplify things). My only advice to anyone having to deal with immigration is...get a lawyer...it's worth the expense!

There is no danger of deportation to "Mother Russia" -- thankfully-- I am Russian by heritage but thankfully not by birth country, the same for my husband. I am a citizen of this country. No offense to any Russians out there but I've been there (in Russia) and that is not a place I would want to call home. Sorry...but it's true.

Law

I never found it necessary to hire a lawyer when dealing with immigration. My best advice is to work within your community and ask others about their experiences, and RESEARCH everything as much as possible. You would be pleasantly surprised to find out how much help your local law library can be.

Also, I was not born in Russia, but I still love "Mother Russia"! Sorry, just my opinion.
