Holy Water

Post by ChristosVoskrese »

My priest told me that if you run low on holy water, you can add rainwater to it, and the whole lot immediately becomes holy water. I put a bowl out to collect rainwater, and then put a few drops of holy water in it. Is this enough to turn the whole lot into holy water, or is there a certain amount that must be added?

Also, there were bits of dirt in the bowl which had come down with the rainwater. Do these make any difference to the holy water? What about non-rainwater?

Even though I added the holy water and, according to my priest, the whole lot should be holy water, it still tastes kind of funny.

When you have a little Holy Water left, you add bottled water to fill up your bottle. Never let it run out completely. Always top up with bottled water.

Tom,

Maybe if you don't know about a subject, AND INSTEAD OF MAKING JOKE OF IT, it is best to (as you say) STAY AWAY!

Angela,

I DO know about the subject. I just think it is silly.

Tom,

Are you putting another person down by using insults? Didn't you say the same thing about me?

You wrote:

Joanna used a simplistic explanation. A typical tactic of hers. She attacks all points of views she does not agree with by labeling them stupid or ignorant.

Whatever you think about the question, I think you should apologize to Michael otherwise you will look like an hypocrite.

Or is your mantra: do as I say and not as I do. Not a very good example to your children, don't you think?

And you wrote:

No, sister. I am simply trying to correct you

Let me return the good deed. I am simply trying to correct you.
You're tactic about addressing humble questions is by putting a person down. Why bother posting? Perhaps for your own twisted pleasures? But, you certainly indicate that you have no respect for the poster.

I think the writing on judgement, that I posted, applies very clearly for you too. But, you seem to be blind to the message that St. Dorotheos teaches.

In Christ, Joanna

An insult would be saying that the post was stupid (which you do all the time). I said that it was silly.

Besides, when have I EVER claimed to be a good Orthodox Christian?

An insult is anything that puts someone else down....which YOU do all the time. And calling it silly is just the same as calling it stupid. You just want to use softer terms, but you are committing the same sin.

Besides, when have I EVER claimed to be a good Orthodox Christian?

That doesn't excuse your actions. It's the law of moral conduct that applies with you and others who don't have a Christian faith.

Guess you can't admit when you're wrong. No surprise, since you made it clear, in many posts that you don't care about who everybody is here.

The main point is, that you made comments about conduct and you fall into the same category. You just like to preach, but not act.

I see that you are so full of pride that you can't even admit that what you wrote was inappropriate.

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. (Ps. 50)
