Star Signs

Post by ANGELA »

How is this possible???
It is forbidden to believe in this. I cannot understand people calling themselves Christians, yet read their star signs.

What on earth are you talking about? Orthodox Christians do not believe in horoscopes or any other occult practices for that matter! If you met an Orthodox layman or clergyman who gave them credence, they are not in obedience to the Holy Church.

Please don't make such generalized statements that are so obviously untrue.

Some people prefer cupcakes. I, for one, care less for them...

Listen Sean,

For me to write this comment means that I know people that say they are Orthodox christians and still read their horoscopes.

I don't make things up!!!

I think Sean misunderstood what you meant by;

I have found out that Orthodox Christians believe in Star Signs!!!

He probably thought that you meant all Orthodox Christians. Being more specific helps to clear up any potential misunderstandings, as you were in your second post:

For me to write this comment means that I know people that say they are Orthodox christians and still read their horoscopes.

I read it as a figure of speech.

Many people don't understand the danger of believing in these things.

It's the same thing like Greek Orthodox Christians who wear the evil eye or blue stone with their Cross. They wear that for protection and completely don't realize that it is a pagan symbol.

Or the belief of the matia. I think superstitions are becoming more influencial these days.

Angela,

Did something happen that brought this up?

In Christ,
