LOL... I was wondering how many people would catch that...
That's what I CRAVED today (that & some meat pies from the Russian store), but instead I had the veggie sub. Ah well.
Hey, excuse my red face... my scarf is on too tight.

I had my "Pharisee of the Order of the Convert" hat on!

What are some of these struggles that the "cradles" have that may be different from converts?
I'm told by cradles that the approach to theology, praxis etc is very different from the way a convert would think about theology, praxis, etc. What are these differences?

Okay. I get everyone's point. But, please note, that I am not judging. It's just my opinion(about people's behaviour). Judgement is final, opinions can change.
Maybe I'm reading too many books by saints and their views on how the Orthodox society is falling away from God...Lordy, Lord..I'm sure I'll be hearing from TomS about this comment.
But, since we are in the Praxis forum, it would be interesting to note what the cradles struggle with in comparison to the converts.

Tom,

He, he. That's why I'm so frustrated with the "living Orthodox TODAY". I get the real life view.
So I read the saints writings and you say that they are out of context with our lives, but then I see how Orthodox, cradle and convert live, in real life and it is no help.
Those who lived for God are the ones that know what they are talking about. We are the ones who are messed up.
What would you suggest I read, Tom? What amazing books of wisdom of our generation do you consider fundamental to our faith?? hmmm?
Orthodox6,
Doxa to Theo. Katelaveno. Efaristo.

What you REFUSE to acknowledge is the fact that the Saints were not LIVING IN the world. They had withdrawn from the world and were able to focus 100% on their faith with little distractions.
Unless you wish to do the same (and you have told me that you cannot, or will not, join a convent) then you have to LEARN how to live the Faith IN THIS WORLD. You cannot learn this by reading the writings of those who did not live it.
