Would that make hierarchs of the Orthodox Church heretics also?

If they pray with heretics, who have not repented of their heresies, yes.

Evangelical Protestantism didn't exist in the early Church, it cannot be compared to Gnosticism and Arianism. Though their theology is flawed, they are not heretics.

So what if a sepecific heresy known as "Evangelical Protestantism" didn't exist in the early Church? The canon says "Don't pray with herestics". What don't you understand?

And, BTW, The Orthodox DO consider them heretics! They consider the RC's schismatics.

Matthew,

Protestants oftentimes ARE Arians and Gnostics. Please see the book Against the Protestant Gnostics by Phillip Lee published by Oxford U. Press which you cannot claim is not reputable.

Also of note: Last year I read an article in I believe, "Christianity Today" where a protestant was proudly mentioning how they are Nestorians and how the Anti-Nestorians kicked them out of the bigger Church at the 3rd Ecumenical Council!

This assumes that you have the right to judge who is and who is not a heretic, and that your judgement is pure and true.

The canons clearly state that is a bishop is teaching heresy bare headed that we (laymen and clergy alike) are to break all communion with him because having communion with a heretic puts us under the same punishment as the one teaching heresy.

All Orthodox have this duty. Read Canon 15 of the First-Second Council. Well, that is not a canon in your Non Chalcedonian Church though so you won't agree but it is for us.
